I tried to tune my laptop with its own ariel , only tuned about 50 channels .then connected outside ariel over 200 appeared.ive yet to use it in rural locations.

Unlike some similar devices, this was easy to configure. Install the software, plug it in, run through the setup. And it works! Can't ask for any more folks.

I had been trying to get my old Hauppauge Win TV 900 DTV USB to work with a laptop and an amplified digital indoor Arial; though I had a very picture by upgrading the software from the website, it would often freeze. I then looked at the DTV300 to see if it could improve the signal and decided to make the purchase based on good reviews. I first picked up all the channels available by using an outdoor Arial and a free view signal, then plugged in the indoor Arial and the picture quality was just as good as the outdoor Arial with no freezes though sometimes have to slightly adjust the Arial for some stations. It works brilliantly with Windows Media Centre EPG and a separately purchased WMC remote control rather than supplied EPG software and mini remote.

Amazing value compared to competitors.
Works fantastically with W7 Media Center although an amplified desktop aerial misses many channels where I live. An external aerial would improve things. 9/10.
Will it work with a Mac or is there a similar product that does?

Superb little gadget, Freeview, FM & DAB all work flawlessly. I'm using this on a car PC as a DAB/FM receiver and am well pleased. If only there was a plugin for Centrafuse or Riderunner then this unit would fly off the shelves. Buy one, you won't regret it.
Much better than some on the market.

In this rural area( about 20 miles from transmitter),reception on normal television requires at least a large loft aerial(bungalow) and the same aeriel gives good reception with this device.Pity that station numbers do not correspond to those on TV. However guide and favourites compensate for this.
Small aerial supplied - forget it!
Picture quality very good, audio good.

Good product didn't know which one to pick as there was so many available and with big price range.
Think we made a good choice works well, the only down side is the arial isen't brill and the tv channels arn't in order (not a big deal. Very good buy.
